Why I’m buying stock in Zoom; Bridging the Intergenerational Gap

In our efforts to Cope through Corona, Senior Options invited a music therapist to facilitate a session for our clients and their families via Zoom. The concept itself was exciting. Family members from all over the country zooming in to experience music together with their loved ones.  While the music was uplifting, the true value of the call came from something else entirely. The sheer joy all participants experienced as they saw their family. It was as if no one else existed on the call.

As one of our Care Managers, Briana, expressed, “the relationship building during that session was extraordinary”. Briana could not have said it any better.

As we strive to identify the game changers during these trying times, there is no question Zoom ranks #1. What we saw on our Zoom call was easily defined as pure happiness and can be replicated with sons, daughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Now is the time to take advantage of the opportunities. We all have the opportunity to zoom past isolation and build the bond with our loved ones.
