Lené Schmieder
Lené has had a lifelong passion for helping others, with a special heart for the geriatric population. As a young girl, she volunteered in a nursing home as a “Candy Striper,” assisting nurses in caring for elderly patients. This experience ignited her passion for working with older adults.
With over 30 years of experience in the medical field, Lené began her career as a technician before advancing into nursing. She has specialized in the operating room, assisting doctors in surgery, and holds certification in IV Therapy for critically ill patients. Lené has served as a Patient Liaison, advocating for critical care patients from ICU to acute care hospitals, and supporting the elderly in transitions to rehabilitation and acute care settings.
Lené genuinely enjoys building relationships with her patients and their families, taking great care in addressing the unique needs of each individual. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, traveling, and caring for her two rescue dogs. She also volunteers at local animal rescues, including one that helps the elderly adopt and care for pets, bringing companionship and joy to their homes.
