Pet Therapy

Senior Options is pleased to offer the unique experience of pet therapy to our clients. We invite you to meet our team members Meryl Berdugo and her pet therapy dog, Lola.

Pet therapy has yielded positive results for all who participate. We have observed that our clients’ physical, mental and emotional state have improved through these sessions. Pet therapy has been known to lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety, suppress depression, and decrease loneliness. When pet therapy is consistent, the body is more likely to produce serotonin and dopamine, which allows the body to calm down and find itself in a state of peace. Pet therapy can be especially effective for clients diagnosed with a neurocognitive disease. If you would like to find out more about how pet therapy can benefit your loved one, please give us a call.
